Presentation of the Hackathon Challenge
8. Oktober 11:00 Uhr
How can weather forecasting be improved? Take part in the unsolved challenge of estimating precipitation from weather radar data!
Accurately predicting rainfall is challenging because radars measure reflectivity rather than direct rainfall, and environmental variations further complicate this conversion. The RainQuest hackathon aims to address this problem by developing models that integrate precise point measurements from rain gauge data with radar reflectivity, which offers better measurement resolution.
You are a data scientist or a machine learning enthusiast interested in tackling real-world problems? Join the hackathon kick-off presentation on the 8th of October at 11 am and learn more about the exciting challenge that awaits you!
In this Hackathon you will get the chance to enhance your skills in data analysis, machine learning, and meteorological modeling. No prior experience with weather data is required. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and work with KIT’s supercomputer cluster in a relaxed and collaborative environment.
Limited number of participants.
